Red light therapy use specific wavelengths of light to benefit the body. These wavelengths can penetrate the skin and reach cells, where they stimulate various processes. Red light tends to affect the surface of the skin, aiding with things like wound healing and reducing inflammation. Near-infrared light penetrates deeper, assisting with muscle recovery and reducing pain. Both types are often used together in therapies to promote healing, reduce pain, and improve overall well-being.

Selective Waveband Technology (SWT®) IPL and Dual Mode Filtering, different from Broadband Light Therapy (BBL), as it allows the device to deliver precise light energy in specific wavelengths, selectively targeting the melanin (pigment) contained in each hair follicle and leaving the surrounding tissue undamaged. The pulses of light damage the hair follicles making them unable to regrow which leads to permanent hair reduction. Most patients need 6 to 10 sessions on average.

NOTE: SWT® laser hair removal is safe for all skin types and is Health Canada Certified for dark skinned patients (Fitzpatrick Skin Type 5 & 6). The applicator used emits light with wavelength 645nm to 950nm. This enables safe treatment in patients with a higher skin concentration of melanin. The penetration depth of these wavelength is enough to reach the deeper hair follicles.

The Nordlys™ Ellipse IPL™ uses Selective Wave Band Technology (SWT®) and Dual Mode Filtering, different from Broadband Light Therapy (BBL), as it deliver precise light energy in specific wavelengths, selectively targeting various chromophores in the skin, such as melanin and hemoglobin. This precise targeting enables the treatment of various skin conditions with minimal damage to surrounding tissues. Treatments include Skin Rejuvenation, Rosacea, Facial Spider veins, Diffuse Redness, Red Scarring, Hemangioma (Cherry & Strawberry Moles), Age/Liver Spots), Freckles, Melasma, Sun Spots & Acne and much more!

The Nordlys™ Light & Bright™ uses the Non-Ablative Fraction Laser (NAFL) 1550™ and/or 1940™ along with Ellipse IPL™using Selective Wave Band Technology (SWT®) and Dual Mode Filtering. The NAFL treats with SoftCool for comfort, that penetrate the skin at different depths to encourage new collagen and elastin production. The Ellipse IPL™ is different from Broadband Light Therapy (BBL) as it delivers precise light energy in specific wavelengths, selectively targeting various chromophores in the skin, such as melanin and hemoglobin.

This treatment improves redness and dark spots, resurfaces your skin, and stimulate your body’s own natural collagen & elastin production for brighter, glowing skin. The Light & Bright™ is a series of treatments, typically done over 3 sessions.

The Nordlys™ Non-Ablative Fractional Laser (NAFL) 1550™ & 1940 is the newest in skin resurfacing technology. This innovative tool is a fractional non-ablative laser treatment with SoftCool for comfort, that penetrate the skin at different depths to encourage new collagen and elastin production. The results are generally the smoothing of wrinkles and scars, fading of brown spots, and overall improvement in skin tone. Unlike more aggressive lasers, fractional skin resurfacing treatment only targets a “fraction” of the skin at a time, resulting in less discomfort and downtime.

Nordlys™ Nd:YAG stands for neodymum-doped yttrium aluminum garnet, which is the crystal used to refract light in the laser device. Now you know why everyone uses the abbreviation. It may sound technical, but it's actually quite simple. The Nd:YAG is a type of non-ablative laser used for numerous procedures. Non-ablative basically means "non-wounding" which results in less damage to the skin, lowers chances of complications and lowers "down time" after the procedure. Treatments include vascular lesions like spider veins, broken capillaries, hemangiomas, facial/periorbital and leg veins, birthmarks, nail fungus and warts and much more! Please note that this DOES NOT treat varicose veins.
